WWE News: Ronda Rousey confirmed to appear on every Raw until WrestleMania
What’s the story?
Well, there's been a lot of talk recently about what kind of schedule Ronda Rousey will undertake as a WWE Superstar.
WWE has confirmed that Ronda Rousey will appear on WWE Raw tonight- and on every single Raw on the road to WrestleMania.
In case you didn’t know...
Ronda Rousey has a problem with authority. The Authority, that is. Since her first WWE appearance at WrestleMania 31, Rousey has clashed with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon - initially in a segment with The Rock where she gave Triple H a hip toss and put Stephanie in an Armbar.
After debuting at the Royal Rumble, Rousey's handshake with Stephanie seemed to mask what was next as, when signing her WWE contract at Elimination Chamber PPV, the former UFC star put Triple H through a table.
On RAW last week, a displeased Ronda Rousey made a beeline for Stephanie McMahon, forcing her to apologize, before Triple H laid out Kurt Angle with a cheap shot.
The heart of the matter
After it was confirmed Ronda Rousey would appear on RAW tonight, the internet was abuzz with talk of what would happen next. It looks like we're building to a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania with Rousey going up against Triple H and Stephanie- most likely with Kurt Angle in her corner.
Well, WWE dropped a bombshell today on WWE.com where they confirmed that "Raw is going to get a lot more Rowdy!"
WWE confirmed that Ronda Rousey will appear on every single episode of Raw leading up to WrestleMania, making "special appearances in Milwaukee, Detroit, Dallas, Cleveland, and Atlanta over the next five weeks.
What’s next?
Well, Ronda Rousey is in Milwaukee tonight and will appear on Raw.
Are Stephanie and Triple H there? Will we find out more about the plan for Rousey's rumored in-ring debut at WrestleMania? I guess there's only one way to find out.
Author’s take
I personally think this is incredible news. Rousey is a huge mainstream attraction and this is a massive boost for WWE. While it's not yet known what kind of schedule Ronda Rousey will take on after WrestleMania, at least knowing she'll be on the next five episodes of Raw hints that the "full time" contract may indeed mean that. Will we see Rowdy on Raw as a permanent fixture or maybe even at house shows? Who knows? I can't wait to find out.
