WWE News: Ronda Rousey on possibly working with CM Punk in WWE
What’s the story?
Ahead of her in-ring WWE debut at WrestleMania 34 next weekend, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey spoke with Get Up in order to discuss who she wants to work within the WWE and who her current favorite in the company is.
In case you didn’t know…
MMA veteran and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made her much-awaited WWE debut back in January during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, where she was involved in an altercation with Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and the winner of the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match, Asuka.
Following her WWE debut, Rousey eventually went on to challenge Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H to a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 34.
The heart of the matter
During her interview with Get Up, Ronda Rousey stated that her current favorite in the WWE to work with is non-other than her tag team partner at WrestleMania 34, current General Manager of Raw, Kurt Angle.
"My favorite to work with so far is Kurt Angle, I absolutely love him, he's the coolest."- Rousey on Kurt Angle.
In addition, Rousey was also asked who she wants to work within the WWE, to which the former UFC Bantamweight Champion responded by saying she would love to work with former WWE Champion CM Punk, who left the company in 2014 in order to jump ship to the UFC.
"I would really love to work with CM Punk, but I don't know if that's possible."
Furthermore, Rousey was also asked if she knows anything about a potential surprise return to the WWE for CM Punk, but, unfortunately, the former UFC Champion is as hopeful as others when it comes to CM Punk possibly returning to the WWE.
"No, I wish I did. I wish I was breaking the news 'CM Punk and I are taking over the world together,' but I've don't have any news to break. I'm just pleading, pleading eyes."
What’s next?
Ronda Rousey will team up with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next weekend as the Olympic Gold Medal winning duo take on the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
