WWE News: Ronda Rousey on receiving RAW Women's Championship shot, wanting to have children "soon"
What's the story?
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Ronda Rousey addressed her upcoming RAW Women's title shot against Nia Jax.
Rousey gave her take on why she believes Jax is offering her this opportunity while also discussing her desire to have children in future.
In case you didn't know…
"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey recently transitioned from the role of an MMA fighter to a WWE Superstar - having wrestled her first official WWE match at WrestleMania 34 last month.
Rousey has often spoken about wanting to start a family with her husband Travis Browne, ever since she first broached the topic around 2015-16.
The heart of the matter
Ronda Rousey insinuated that she's genuinely surprised about being given a shot at the RAW Women's Championship so early into her WWE career.
However, Rousey noted that this may be a strategy on part of reigning titleholder Nia Jax:
"I'm over the moon about it. I really wasn't expecting it, especially this soon. I've only had one match - I guess it's a good strategy on Nia's part, to try and get me early before I get a lot of experience but I think it's going to backfire on her. I think everyone who's watching Money in the Bank will be greatly entertained, regardless."
Furthermore, upon being probed as to when she'd like to start a family, Rousey explained that she’d love to have children some day, soon, but doesn’t know yet.
What's next?
Ronda Rousey will face RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax with the title on the line at WWE’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view.
This year's Money In The Bank PPV takes place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 17th.
Author's take
Ronda Rousey is an incredible athlete, as evidenced by this breathtaking video!
Rousey has been keen on starting a family for quite some time now, and it’ll be interesting to see her divide time between the WWE's road schedule and parenting duties - should she choose to start a family in the near future.
Besides, with several other top WWE personalities such as Mickie James and Stephanie McMahon besting both the professional and parenting spheres, Rousey surely would have no shortage of advice regarding the same.
