WWE News Roundup: 9-time champion has retired? Bloodline member hurt; Former AEW star out indefinitely after SmackDown; Drew McIntyre update

Welcome back to another edition of WWE News Roundup. In today's column, we'll look at Liv Morgan's recent claim about a 9-time champion possibly being retired from in-ring competition.

Just a week before the Survivor Series: War Games, WWE suffered a big blow, as a current tag team champion was ruled out of action indefinitely. Meanwhile, a Bloodline member has been legitimately hurt after the events that transpired on SmackDown this past Friday.

And last but not least, we have an update on Drew McIntyre's immediate future. Continue reading as we dive into the top news of the day:

#4. Liv Morgan claims Becky Lynch has retired

Liv Morgan has continued to fire shots at Becky Lynch since The Man left WWE after her contract expired earlier this year. The Irish star is a five-time Women's World Champion, a two-time WWE Women's Champion, a one-time NXT Women's Champion, and a one-time Women's Tag Team Champion.

Notably, The Judgment Day member's fairytale run with the Women's World Championship began after she dethroned Lynch at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE earlier this year.

Morgan would get the better of Lynch again a few days later in a Steel Cage Match. This marked Becky Lynch's last match for the Stamford-based promotion. Her contract expired in June 2024.

Although there's no official confirmation of her retirement, Liv Morgan has proclaimed she ended the career of her former rival.

Earlier this week, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins took their daughter Roux to Hawaii for the world premiere of Disney's Moana 2. The Man shared some adorable family photos on her official Instagram handle. Later, The Miracle Kid posted a cheeky retirement joke in the comments section.

"I’m so glad you’re enjoying retirement 🥹 Roux looks beautiful ✨," Morgan wrote.

However, Lynch recently clarified that she wouldn't ride off into the sunset with Dominik Mysterio slamming a door into her face, recalling how Dom cost her the title match earlier this year.

Rumor has it that WWE is planning to bring back The Man for RAW's Netflix debut on January 6, 2025.

#3. The Bloodline member hurt after SmackDown

CM Punk returned on SmackDown this past Friday as the fifth member of the OG Bloodline, courtesy of Paul Heyman.

He joined Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn to spark a brawl with Solo Sikoa and Co. The chaos ended after The Second City Saint nailed Tama Tonga with Go To Sleep, forcing the new Bloodline to retreat from the ring.

After the show, the company aired behind-the-scenes footage of Tama Tonga receiving stitches on his lips. The 42-year-old will compete alongside his teammates against the OG Bloodline and CM Punk in a Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30.

#2. Jade Cargill is out of action indefinitely

Speaking of injuries, Jade Cargill has been put on the sidelines, thanks to a mysterious backstage attack that took place on SmackDown this past week.

The reigning Women's Tag Team Champion was found battered on the hood of a car backstage during the Triple Threat Match between Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, and Blair Davenport in the ongoing Women's United States Title Tournament.

The former AEW star was immediately taken to the local medical facility for scans. WWE later released a statement, announcing that she had been diagnosed with a myriad of injuries: deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a bruised kidney, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee, and facial lacerations.

As a result, The Storm will be out of action indefinitely and will miss Survivor Series: WarGames.

According to the latest reports, Jade Cargill was dealing with a legitimate injury, and this is why WWE played out an injury angle on SmackDown.

#1. Has WWE leaked Drew McIntyre's WWE return date?

Drew McIntyre hasn't been seen on TV since losing to CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood.

As per the reports, The Scottish Warrior experienced personal losses this year, and he took some time off to visit his family in Europe. Interestingly, Drew McIntyre is advertised on the promotional graphic for Survivor Series: WarGames and future RAW episodes.

Fans shouldn't be surprised if he returns sooner than expected. WWE reportedly has plans for Wade Barrett to feud with Drew McIntyre in the future. The RAW commentator hasn't stepped inside the squared circle since April 2016.
