WWE News Roundup: Details on 5-time Champion being released from the company, Huge confrontation, Jade Cargill's replacement, Brock Lesnar's new look
Welcome to the WWE News Roundup for December 15, 2024. In today's edition, we'll look at topics about superstars like Brock Lesnar and Jade Cargill.
Plus, a massive confrontation that recently happened, what's next for Drew McIntyre, and more. Let's get started:
#5. Triple H confronts Kevin Owens after WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
Kevin Owens lost to Cody Rhodes at the end of Saturday Night's Main Event, and what followed can only be described as pure chaos. The Prizefighter did not take the loss too well, deciding to attack his opponent with a devastating Package Piledriver after their match.
Owens also stood on a stretcher-bound Rhodes and posed with the Winged Eagle version of the WWE Championship. Later, Triple H would confront KO for his actions in front of the crowd.
Clearly, the feud between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes is far from over.
#4. Jade Cargill's replacement revealed on WWE SmackDown
Jade Cargill was written off WWE television last month, having been attacked by an unknown assailant as part of a storyline. With Cargill unable to team up with Bianca Belair and defend their Women's Tag Team Championships, questions were raised about the future of those belts.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was ready to strip the duo of their gold. However, Naomi stepped up to replace Cargill during the latest SmackDown episode:
It will be interesting to see how this development affects Naomi and Jade Cargill once the latter makes her in-ring return.
#3. Brock Lesnar's photo goes viral
An interesting picture of Brock Lesnar has been making the rounds on social media. Everyone couldn't help but notice that The Beast Incarnate looks different than the last time we saw him in WWE.
Lesnar appears to be sporting a long beard, as can seen below:
#2. Buff Bagwell reflects on his WWE release
It's safe to say that former WCW star Buff Bagwell did not have a successful career in WWE. On the July 2, 2001, episode of RAW, he faced Booker T in a critically panned main event and was gone from the company one week later.
Bagwell recently recalled how he felt after receiving the news about his release. On his YouTube channel, the five-time WCW World Tag Team Champion said:
"I just kinda wobbled my bags out to the back, trying to not be noticed, and then when I got outside I remember I started crying and a white [Ford] Explorer pulled up, and it was Chris Benoit and his wife, and I remember just totally crying at this stage." Bagwell continued, "He's like, 'Where are you going?' I said, 'Dude, I think I just got fired.' I said, 'They called it released but I don't know, man. It's crazy, so I'm going home.' I hugged Chris. I said goodbye to Chris."
Buff Bagwell added that as a consequence of leaving WWE, he knew he had to change his luxurious lifestyle.
#1. Spoiler on Drew McIntyre's future
Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event. Interestingly, The Scottish Warrior has posted a teaser about what's next for him.
McIntyre is targeting four other superstars after beating Zayn:
Drew McIntyre could continue to go after OG Bloodline members Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and possibly CM Punk as well. We already know that he attacked The Usos not too long ago.
A spoiler has revealed that Jimmy Uso beat McIntyre with a crutch during the upcoming episode of SmackDown. Clearly, this is all leading to a bigger storyline featuring members of the OG Bloodline and The Scottish Warrior.
