WWE News Roundup: Legendary 44-year-old star to finally return next week after a year, The Bloodline to attack and take out CM Punk and Brock Lesnar?
Greetings and welcome to yet another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News Roundup. Today, we will cover some exciting topics related to top names like former WWE Champions Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns.
Cody Rhodes is set to face Solo Sikoa for the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam. However, more than the match itself, the buzz is around Roman Reigns finally returning to take out Sikoa and his new Bloodline at the show. However, as per a wrestling veteran, the company could have a bigger surprise in store.
Without any further ado, let's take a look at some big news stories:
#1. Dominik Mysterio's request to Liv Morgan
The story between Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley took another turn this week on WWE RAW. While on one hand, Morgan tried to help Dominik win his match against Jey Uso, she ended up creating confusion and Ripley had to come out to chase her away. The Nightmare told Mysterio after the match that he was hers. Mysterio took to X (formerly Twitter) and told Morgan to stop torturing him.
It is unclear if Mami has forgiven Dominik for his rising closeness with her rival Liv Morgan during her absence or not. Meanwhile, the current Women's Champion continues to taunt Ripley by not only wearing gold around her waist but also implying that Dominik is secretly interested in her.
#2. The Bloodline could take out CM Punk and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam as per veteran
Former WCW Tag Team Champion Disco Inferno stated on Keepin' It 100 that he could see a scenario where Brock Lesnar returns to avenge The Bloodline's attack on Paul Heyman. He stated that if The Bloodline took out Heyman's former clients like Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, then Roman Reigns would receive a massive pop when he returned.
"I would not be remiss to seeing The Bloodline taking out Punk, who tries to defend [Heyman's] honor, then Brock comes back to a big pop and they take him out too before Roman finally makes the big return because they're already chanting, remember how we talked about the chants 'We want Roman' will get louder,'' said Inferno
Brock Lesnar has been out of action since he lost to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. While it is predictable that The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns will eventually return to WWE to exact revenge against Sikoa and his new Bloodline, adding Brock Lesnar and CM Punk into the mix would make things more interesting.
#3. Meiko Satomura set to finally return to WWE after 16 months
Legendary superstar Meiko Satomura has been advertised to return to the company next week for WWE live events in Tokyo on July 25th, 26th and 27th. Her last match for the promotion took place in Match 2023 against Roxanne Perez. Satomura is a former NXT UK Women's Champion.
The 44-year-old is considered an icon in Japan and is one of the toughest women superstars in the industry. Her accolades include being a former Progress World Women's Champion as well as World of Stardom Champion. Her addition to the upcoming live events could also mean that she will make her televised return to the company in the near future as well.
