WWE News Roundup: Major star announces that he's leaving the company and will never return, Randy Orton's huge milestone, Roman Reigns' return

Welcome to the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News Roundup where we aim to cover all the top stories of the day from the world of the sports entertainment juggernaut. In today's piece, we will cover topics around Roman Reigns and Randy Orton, among others.

Also, in one of the hottest news of the day, a major superstar has announced that he is set to leave the company and won't be returning. So without further delay, let's check it out below.

#1. WWE RAW preview

The SummerSlam go-home edition of Monday Night RAW will feature a huge first-time-ever match as Finn Balor will take on Gunther ahead of the Ring General's match against Damian Priest at the upcoming premium live event. We will also see Xavier Woods take on Karrion Kross after weeks of animosity between the two.

Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark will face Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match. In singles action, Sheamus will collide with Bronson Reed while the Creed Brothers will face Akira Tozawa and Otis.

Seth Rollins, who will be the special guest referee for Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk at SummerSlam will give his instructions for the match.

#2. Randy Orton reaches huge landmark

Randy Orton has been a part of WWE for over 20 years. The Legend Killer recently reached a huge milestone as he competed in his 2400th match for the company.

Orton reached the landmark a few weeks ago during a house show in Mexico where he had teamed up with LA Knight and Andrade to face The Bloodline.

#3. Roman Reigns to not return at SummerSlam?

While the entire wrestling world eagerly awaits Roman Reigns to show up at SummerSlam this weekend, Dave Meltzer believes the company could postpone his return to set up a match between him and Solo Sikoa at WrestleMania 41 next year.

'It’s inevitable this happens [Reigns returning] and the timing feels right, but they also could easily save this for months down the line as Reigns vs. Sikoa feels like a WrestleMania match to go with Rhodes vs. The Rock,'' said Meltzer.

Solo Sikoa has taken over The Bloodline in Roman Reigns' absence. The rising star has dared the Tribal Chief to show up if he has any problem with him taking over the mantle. Meanwhile, he has also removed Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman from the group and recruited Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to support him.

#4. MVP announces that he's leaving WWE

MVP's WWE contract is set to expire soon and the star is unlikely to re-sign with the Stamford-based promotion. The former United States Champion recently appeared at Bloodsport where he announced that he will be leaving the company and there are no chances of him returning down the line.

Aside from MVP, Bobby Lashley is also expected to leave the global juggernaut once his contract expires. There are rumors of the duo reuniting outside WWE, but nothing concrete has come to light yet.
