AJ Styles' return to WWE programming after months did not go as planned as The Phenomenal One suffered an injury during his match against Carmelo Hayes.

With the SmackDown star in the twilight of his career, many have been wondering if he could retire sooner than expected. However, veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer believes that Styles can still go and won't be hanging up his wrestling boots any time soon.

"It wouldn't stun me, but guys never retire, especially when they can still go. And [AJ Styles] can still go," Dave Meltzer said.

AJ Styles' injury was supposedly a work during his match on SmackDown. However, The Phenomenal One ended up suffering a legitimate blow.

Kurt Angle is one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. However, the Olympic Gold medalist's career was majorly affected by multiple injuries he suffered during his time as an active competitor.

Angle was recently asked about a possible return to the squared circle to face John Cena during his retirement tour. However, he made it clear that his days as a pro wrestler are behind him:

"Listen, I'm sure if I made a call, I could make it happen. But there's no way I can do it. But I would love to, you know, be one of John Cena's retirement matches," Angle said.

Kurt Angle was John Cena's first opponent in WWE. The Olympian hung up his boots in 2019 after losing to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35.
