WWE News Roundup: Popular star shares heartbreaking family tragedy, Massive heel turn happening during Roman Reigns feud? Seth Rollins update
Welcome to the WWE News Roundup for October 20, 2024. In today's edition, we'll look at topics about Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
Plus, a new viral video of The Undertaker, Michael Cole's WWE future, and more. So, without further ado, let's begin:
#1 WWE legends The Undertaker and Kane endorse Donald Trump for President
After Batista recently took shots at Donald Trump, The Undertaker chose a different path and publicly endorsed the Republican presidential nominee in a new video.
"All right everyone, November 5th, ElectionMania," said The Deadman in a short clip featuring Trump and Kane (Glenn Jacobs), the current mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Undertaker continued:
"The choice is yours. You can go with President Trump, Kane, and The Undertaker, or you can take Kamala Harris, Dave Bautista, and Tim Walz. Choose wisely. The nation depends on it."
Trump added that it "should be an easy choice." You can watch this below.
The viral video has divided fans, with wrestling veteran Jim Cornette openly criticizing Kane and The Undertaker for being "duped by the world’s most repugnant con man."
#2 What's next for Seth Rollins on WWE RAW?
Seth Rollins has not wrestled in a match since July 2024. There have been concerns over his health as part of a storyline with Bronson Reed, who destroyed Rollins with six Tsunami splashes on RAW.
Interestingly, the former World Heavyweight Champion could end his in-ring hiatus soon. WWE has announced that Rollins will come face-to-face with Reed during the upcoming episode of RAW:
#3 Michael Cole reveals his WWE future
Veteran commentator Michael Cole has signed a long-term deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. Although he appears on WWE SmackDown for now, fans can expect a change next year.
Speaking to Sal Licata of WFAN, Cole confirmed that he will do commentary on WWE RAW when the show moves to Netflix in January 2025:
"I still feel like I've got a lot left in me. I just signed a long-term deal with the company. I'll be doing this for a few more years. I'll be back on Netflix doing Monday Night RAW in January."
#4 Samantha Irvin reflects on her tragic past
WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin recently shared a heartbreaking post on X about her mother, who committed suicide in 2018:
"My mother committed suicide in 2018 when my daughter was just three months old. It has been very hard to make decisions without her since she was always the person I bounced every idea off of. She taught me music, she refined my singing. She helped me place first chair, win talent shows, land roles, and get straight A's-and so I trusted her opinion above all. She was a musical genius but also mentally ill."
Irvin, renowned for her singing talent, appeared on season 10 of America's Got Talent years before joining WWE. The popular star also highlighted her mother's influence in shaping her mindset to succeed later in life:
"I spent my young life constantly trying to make her laugh, trying to convince her that life was good & worth it, and working to reach a mountaintop where I could save my family, truly. I have never questioned whether I would succeed because, from a small age, my mother built me up to believe in myself. I always have and I still do."
#5 Will Cody Rhodes play heel in his next WWE match against Roman Reigns?
Cody Rhodes is World Wrestling Entertainment's top babyface champion right now. However, Vince Russo believes he will become the bad guy at some point.
On the latest episode of BroDown, Russo mentioned that the next feud between Rhodes and Roman Reigns could lead to fans supporting The Original Tribal Chief:
"When he finally gets in the ring with Roman Reigns, they're gonna be done with Cody. And now it's time for Roman again, and that's when they're just gonna turn Cody heel."
Roman Reigns was an effective villain when he fought Cody Rhodes in two singles matches. However, Reigns has become a massive fan favorite after WrestleMania 40. He even teamed up with Rhodes earlier this month to defeat Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.
