WWE News Roundup - Real-life couple confirmed to be separated, Major champion dethroned, Huge update on Randy Orton's condition, and more
We're back with another installment of WWE News Roundup, where we touch on some of the biggest stories making the rounds in the world of pro wrestling.
We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a real-life couple confirmed to have been split up after being married for decades. Meanwhile, a title shockingly changed hands ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames.
An update on Randy Orton's condition has come to light. And last but not least, RAW Superstar has chosen Team Liv Morgan over Team Rhea Ripley. Now without any further ado, let's dive into the top stories of the day.
#4 Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon are separated
While Vince McMahon has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, Linda McMahon has been making waves in politics.
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Linda for U.S. Secretary of Education in his second term at the helm. In the wake of this announcement, The Washington Post published an article titled "Linda McMahon made a fortune with WWE. Wrestling scandals now shadow her rise," in which her attorney Laura Brevetti claimed that Vince and Linda were separated.
The two former CEOs of WWE tied the knot on August 26, 1966, and have two children together: Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon. The article also touched upon the "Ring Boys" lawsuit and the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince.
#3 Andrade dethroned as WWE Speed Champion
Andrade's run as the Speed Champion came to an end moments before SmackDown went on air last week.
Dragon Lee beat Andrade with an inside cradle in a five-minute time limit to capture his second title in WWE. The bout was officially aired on X/Twitter on the November 20 episode of WWE Speed. Lee and El Idolo shook hands and hugged each other after the match.
This ended Andrade's title reign at 161 days. The former AEW star dethroned the inaugural champion Ricochet on June 14, 2024, and defended the gold against Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Pete Dunne, to name a few.
The 35-year-old star was last seen on TV in a feud with Carmelo Hayes and the United States Champion LA Knight, which culminated in a match at Crown Jewel. Despite his valiant effort, he failed to capture the United States Title. It will be interesting to see what the company has in store for him as Survivor Series: WarGames fast approaches.
#2 Major update on Randy Orton's condition
Randy Orton hasn't been seen on WWE TV since Kevin Owens took him out with a banned piledriver on the November 8 edition of SmackDown.
The Viper had to be stretchered out of the arena before being taken to a local medical facility. Shortly after, WWE announced that Randy Orton had been diagnosed with cervical cord neurapraxia, and there was no timeframe for his return.
Earlier today, The Apex Predator was spotted breaking kayfabe when his wife Kim shared an Instagram post of the SmackDown star decorating his house's backyard for Christmas.
Given the nature of the injury (kayfabe), Orton will likely miss the upcoming Survivor Series: WarGames.
#1 Team Liv Morgan or Team Rhea Ripley? Jackie Redmond reveals whose side she is on
Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley will be on a collision course once again when they face each other in a Women's WarGames match come November 30.
Mami may have changed now, but she rubbed a lot of people the wrong way during her time with The Judgment Day. Chief among them was RAW's backstage interviewer, Jackie Redmond.
In an interview with Gabby LaSpisa, Redmond revealed that Ripley had been mean to her and had always preferred Cathy Kelley over her during backstage interviews.
The Canadian broadcaster said the same cannot be said for Liv Morgan, which is why she openly supports the WWE Women's World Champion.
"If I had to pick, I guess, you know, Rhea has actually been kind of like when she was with The Judgment Day, she was pretty awful to me. So I am, I gotta say I am Team Liv. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I mean, Rhea was really mean to me. She used to say, 'Get out of here, go and get Cathy, which I understand, but like, it was mean,'"she said.
