WWE News Roundup: Six-time champion confirms he will never return to in-ring competition, AEW star on facing Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley's message
Welcome to another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News Roundup where we cover all the major stories of the day from the world of sports entertainment juggernaut. In today's edition, we will look at topics about Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley, among others.
We will check out the preview of the upcoming edition of RAW as the build-up for Bad Blood continues. So without any further ado, let's begin.
#1. WWE RAW preview
This week's RAW will be live from Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. WWE has already announced multiple matches and segments for the Monday Night show.
We will see a World Tag Team Title defense from Finn Balor and JD McDonagh as the duo put the gold on the line against The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio will also be in action, as he will face former stablemate Damian Priest in a singles match while Pete Dunne will clash with former partner Sheamus. Natalya, who made her return last week, will take on the Pure Fusion Collective's Zoey Stark.
Aside from all the matches, CM Punk will be making his return to Monday Night programming after he was brutally attacked by Drew McIntyre a few weeks ago. The build-up for the Bad Blood matches is also expected to continue.
#2. Six-time World Champion confirms he will never return to in-ring action
Kurt Angle is one of the greatest superstars to have entered the WWE ring. He is former four-time WWE Champion and a one-time WCW Champion and World Heavyweight Champion. However, the Olympic Gold medalist's illustrious career was affected a lot due to injuries he suffered over the years.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently confirmed that he would never return to in-ring competition. However, Angle is open to a return to a managerial role for Chad Gable's American Made.
"If the money was right [I would come back to manage a faction]… The spot [matters too], yeah, definitely. I think Chad [Gable] and his gang that he has right now, that would be a great idea. I wouldn’t mind doing a spot here and there. But, if you’re gonna ask me to do a wrestling match, it’s just not gonna happen. Yeah, I could take some bumps," he said. [H/T - Ringside News]
Kurt Angle was last seen in action at WrestleMania 35 where he lost to Baron Corbin in a retirement match.
#3. Taz comments on facing Brock Lesnar
Before joining AEW as a commentator, Taz was a prominent name in WWE programming. The Human Suplex Machine once faced Brock Lesnar and Batista alongside Spike Dudley in a dark match.
Taz recently reflected on the match, noting that he's happy to see Lesnar and Batista make it big in the pro wrestling world.
"This basically used to happen every week many years ago… there’s lots of matches you guys don’t know about, lol! Talent that was on TV regularly that had lots of experience, would go against younger newer talent in dark matches. It was a normal thing. Obviously, those two big dudes became gigantic stars… I’ve always liked both of them a lot, i’m very happy for both of their successes," the veteran posted.
Brock Lesnar and Batista were part of the famous OVW Class of 2002, which also consisted of Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, and John Cena.
#4. Bobby Lashley is ready for the future
Bobby Lashley recently departed WWE after his contract with the company expired. While The All Mighty's future is uncertain, he stated that he is ready for whatever the future holds for him.
"I see so many articles about what I’m gonna do. Is it WWE? Is it TNA? Is it AEW? I can’t control any of that. But the one thing I can control is how I prepare. I’m ready for anything," Lashley said.
Bobby Lashley did not have the run in WWE he would have hoped for under Triple H's regime. However, the star has a lot of gas left in the tank.
