WWE News Roundup: Star bids emotional farewell before leaving; huge update on Brock Lesnar by Triple H; Cody Rhodes won't retire before defeating top name
Welcome to another edition of the WWE News Roundup, which brings you some of the hottest news from the wrestling world. With several huge updates today, it's an important one.
A WWE name is leaving the company and has bid farewell in an emotional post. Meanwhile, Triple H has a big update about Brock Lesnar's current status in the company. Also, Cody Rhodes revealed what he needs to do before he retires.
With all this, let's get into it.
#1. Cody Rhodes wants to defeat R-Truth in WWE before he retires
Before Cody Rhodes became the star he is today, he had to work with several other gimmicks in the past. Unfortunately for him, his track record against R-Truth through these gimmicks was not the best. The star has claimed he lost to Truth on 42 occasions.
This has rankled at him, and on Rhodes' podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Truth said that Cody had told him that he would not be done in the wrestling business and retire until he defeated him.
"Before he came back, he said, 'I will not leave this business until you are looking up at the lights and your toes are pointing up.' I'm like, 'Why? Why would you do that to me?' He said, 'It's because you beat me in every character, and you broke my mirror' that you set me up on! I can go on and on about this story that we have man, but upon Cody making his return back to WWE and being the mega man that he is, we crossed paths again. He looked me in my eyes and said, 'It's coming.' I said, 'What's coming?' He said, 'You'll see,'" R-Truth said. (3:49 - 4:30)
The stars are both baby faces, making a match seem unlikely.
#2. Triple H has a huge Brock Lesnar update for WWE
Triple H had a big update this week with Brock Lesnar. He was asked about the star's status with WWE. He said Lesnar did his own thing and was up in Canada watching his kids.
He said that should Lesnar decide to return, they would be open to it
"You'd have to ask Brock Lesnar that. Brock does his own thing, he's up in Canada I'm sure, watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides he would like to do something, we'll be open to the conversation, we'll see," The Game said.
It remains to be seen when and if The Beast returns.
#1 MVP bids farewell to Omos before leaving
Per reports, MVP's time in WWE is ending as his contract expires in August. The star has spoken about his past and has now addressed a WWE star in an emotional farewell.
He sent a message to Omos, saying goodbye and that he'd see him down the road.
"The Nigerian Giant Omos!!! A work relationship turned into a brotherhood. I enjoyed working with The Giant. I also enjoyed his enthusiasm and desire to learn and improve. I watched it in real time!!! Classy guy! The biggest human with the biggest heart! The world is yours big little brother! I'll see you down the road..." MVP wrote.
