WWE News Roundup: Superstar getting released from the company in a couple of weeks, Rhea Ripley's message, Fluffy wants to manage Brock Lesnar
Welcome to another edition of WWE News Roundup. Today we will cover topics around Rhea Ripley and Brock Lesnar, among others.
Also, a prominent star is set to leave the company in a couple of weeks and he shared his thoughts on the same. So, without any further delay, let's begin.
#1. WWE RAW preview
So far, three matches have been announced for tonight's edition of Monday Night RAW. While Gunther will face Jey Uso in the semifinal of the King of the Ring Tournament, IYO SKY will battle Lyra Valkyria with a place in the final at stake.
Sami Zayn will also collide with Chad Gable in a non-title match. The duo have been at odds over the last few weeks and will get a chance to settle their differences inside the squared circle.
#2. Unexpected name wants to manage Brock Lesnar in WWE
Brock Lesnar remains a top name in the pro wrestling fraternity despite his long hiatus from the company. Recently, comedian Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) expressed his desire to manage the Beast Incarnate.
Former RAW GM Jonathan Coachman asked Fluffy who would he like to manage in the global juggernaut. His response was the former Universal Champion.
"Oh, this might be controversial just because of, you know, blah blah blah, but Brock Lesnar," said Fluffy.
Brock Lesnar has been away from the Stamford-based promotion since SummerSlam 2023. There is still no word on when he could return to WWE programming.
#3. Rhea Ripley thanks Xbox
Rhea Ripley has been out of action since suffering a shoulder injury during a backstage assault. However, she has remained active on social media. The star recently took to Instagram to send a thank you message to Xbox for sending her a new console. Mami also promoted WWE 2k24 in the post.
#4. Scrypts comments on leaving the company
Scrypts, also known as Reggie or Reginald, is set to leave the company on June 1 as his current deal runs out. However, the four-time 24/7 Champion is hopeful about his future.
During a recent interview, Reggie assured everyone that he was doing well and great things were in store for him, with many companies getting in touch with him. He added that he was looking forward to the next chapter of his life.
"I am full-on excited for this next chapter in my story. People don’t know this, but I did circus for 16 years. I was ready to lay that career aside and go on the independent circuit if WWE didn’t offer me a contract. I was willing to dive into this head first from the very beginning, but I was fortunate enough to get a contract with WWE, so that didn’t happen. Now, I’m here, and I’m excited to do that. Lots of companies have hit me up. Lots of projects in the works. The future is very, very bright," he said.
The 31-year-old joined the global juggernaut in 2020. He initially debuted as the French sommelier of Carmella but soon started taking part in in-ring action.
