WWE News Roundup: Superstar shockingly appears despite being suspended, Gunther confirms name change, veteran on Brock Lesnar

Welcome to another edition of WWE News Roundup, where we aim to bring you all the top stories of the day from the world of sports entertainment. In today's piece, we will discuss topics around Gunther and Brock Lesnar, among others.

Also, a top superstar made an appearance on RAW despite being suspended. Let's check it out and more in today's News Roundup.

#1. Gunther confirms name change

Gunther has been booked as a dominant force since making his main roster debut a few years back. The Austrian star recently won the King of the Ring tournament, following which he has been called the King General instead of the Ring General.

Gunther confirmed the nickname change before RAW, as he referred to himself by that name on social media.

The Imperium leader's victory at King and Queen of the Ring was controversial as Randy Orton's shoulder was up during the three-count. The two could likely collide again.

#2. Vince Russo on Brock Lesnar-Gunther comparisons

While Gunther has been booked strongly on the WWE main roster, Vince Russo still does not believe that he is on the level of Brock Lesnar. The veteran highlighted that the King General lost to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40:

"Gunther was being pushed like Brock Lesnar? Bro, he just lost to Sami Zayn. He lost to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania, how is he being booked like Brock Lesnar bro? He lost to freaking Sami Zayn."

Brock Lesnar was booked to win the world title in the first four months of his WWE debut. Gunther, meanwhile, is the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time and brought back prestige to the title.

#3. Bron Breakker appears on WWE RAW despite suspension

Bron Breakker was suspended from WWE programming last week after he brutally destroyed his opponent and followed it up with a backstage attack on Ricochet. However, a suspension wasn't enough to keep the former NXT Champion at bay as he attacked Ricochet and Ilja Dragunov during their match on the red brand last night.

Bron delivered a Spear to both stars, causing their match to end in No contest. He was later escorted out of the ring.

Breakker was upset with being overlooked for the recently concluded King of the Ring tournament and decided to take out his frustrations on other stars. It would be interesting to see what actions Adam Pearce will take now since a suspension wasn't enough.
