Welcome to the latest WWE News Roundup. In today's edition, we will look at some stories about top names like Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and more.
The American Nightmare has been involved in a storyline with The Judgment Day over the last few months. He is slated to face a member of the heel faction in a singles match at Crown Jewel.
In other news, a former champion may have wrestled in their last Royal Rumble match this year. Let's find out who and more in today's News Roundup.
#3. Cody Rhodes will face Damian Priest at WWE Crown Jewel
Cody Rhodes has been feuding with The Judgment Day since finishing his program with Brock Lesnar. The same continued on last night's RAW, where Damian Priest challenged The American Nightmare to a singles match at Crown Jewel.
After Rhodes accepted the challenge, he was subjected to a brutal beatdown by The Judgment Day and JD McDonagh and suffered an ankle injury. Later in the night, the former AEW star came out to help Jey Uso against the heel faction and took everyone out despite the injury.
Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest last met on WWE TV in June this year when the American Nightmare came out on top.
#2. Nia Jax confirmed that former champion may have competed in her last Royal Rumble match this year
While Nia Jax stayed off the wrestling radar after getting released from WWE in 2021, the Unstoppable Force made a one-off appearance at Royal Rumble earlier this year.
During a recent interview, Nia revealed that she only returned at the event because her cousin Tamina told her it could be her last Rumble.
Tamina has not donned her wrestling boots in nearly eight months. She has also not been seen on TV programming since the Women's Royal Rumble match earlier this year.
#1. Potential update on Randy Orton's WWE return
Randy Orton has been on the shelf for over 500 days. However, recent word is that The Legend Killer could make his much-awaited return around Survivor Series.
Rev Theory, the band behind Orton's iconic 'Voices' theme song, has been teasing his return for the last few weeks. In a new update on their social media, the band made it clear that The Legend Killer's return is around the corner.
It has been reported that the creative team is already planning storylines for Randy Orton, and the company is likely to pull out all the stops to hype up his return.
