WWE News: Royal Rumble ticket demand at an all-time high
What's the story?
As per the Observer, Ticket demand for WWE's Annual PPV Royal Rumble is at an "all-time record high" as of now.
In case you didn't know...
Royal Rumble is a part of the "Big 4" PPVs along with Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series in which members from both the brands- RAW and Smackdown take part. Even members of the NXT roster make appearances at Royal Rumble.
Royal Rumble is going to be held on 28th January 2018, at the at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
What is exciting about this Royal Rumble is that apart from the traditional men's Royal Rumble match; for the first time ever an all-female Royal Rumble match will be taking place with 30 participants. As the main roster falls short of 30 female superstars, it is expected that there will be a lot of competitors from NXT taking part along with a few returns.
The heart of the matter
The Royal Rumble is one of the most popular events in WWE. It can be argued that the hype surrounding Royal Rumble is second only to Wrestlemania.
It looks like the Women's Royal Rumble and a stacked card have created a huge hype and the ticket demand is soaring, even in an era where WWE has been struggling with Ticket sales at times.
What's next?
The Royal Rumble is looking to be a spectacular event. Not only will it feature two Royal Rumble matches but also a lot of title matches including a triple threat match including Kane, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and a handicap match seeing AJ Styles defend his WWE Championship against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
The Smackdown Tag Team Titles will also be defended by the Usos against Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable in 2 out of 3 falls match.
Author's take
Royal Rumble is my favourite event of the year and it is not surprising that it is generating such a high demand especially given that a history-making event will be taking place at the show.
