WWE News: Rumored Surprise Women's Royal Rumble entrant denies participation
What's the story?
One of the former WWE Superstars reported to be taking part in the Women's Royal Rumble match, Molly Holly, has denied that she'll be involved, and states that she wasn't even asked by the WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Molly Holly is a female wrestler who would fit right in with today's 'Women's Revolution' as she was considered to be way ahead of her time when it came to in-ring wrestling ability.
She left the company in 2005 and has only been seen once since, in a 25th Anniversary Wrestlemania Women's Battle Royale.
The heart of the matter
Molly Holly was asked about the news that she had been confirmed as an entrant in the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match, which was broken by PWInsider, and seemed confused by the suggestion to say the least.
"My friends' kids were texting me and they're like, 'I saw on the internet that you're gonna be in the Royal Rumble.' I was like, 'I am?! Oh my gosh! Where does it say this. So I start looking like, is this like some thing that they just forgot to tell me?"
Wrestlinginc. goes on to add that Molly was so concerned about the suggestion she was in the Rumble that she allegedly called WWE to ask them and they merely responded that the internet fans were trying to guess who would be in it.
"So then, I actually called, because I was like, 'Am I gonna be?' So then I called the WWE, and I was like, 'Is this like a thing?' And they were like, 'Oh, fans are predicting who's gonna be in the Rumble.' I was like, 'oh, I'm sorry. I'm like embarrassed.'"
What's next?
With Ronda Rousey allegedly in Colombia and Molly Holly flat out denying her involvement, I just want to say that I admire everyone's commitment to trying to surprise the WWE Universe. That being said, the Rumble is just around the corner and we have no idea who will be in it.
