WWE News: Rusev set to return at RAW after WrestleMania 33

The Bulgarian Brute could be returning much quicker than expected!

What's the story?

It appears that after missing several weeks of action due to a shoulder injury, Rusev is set to return to Monday Night RAW, the night after WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.

In case you didn't know...

Rusev sustained a severe shoulder injury earlier in the year, which ultimately required surgery to repair the damage. After being written off of television, Lana actually did some work with the Superstars of NXT, during her husband's hiatus due to injury.

It is also worth noting that Rusev is the first ever Bulgarian-born athlete to be signed to a WWE contract.

This time last year, Rusev was a member of the winning team that defeated The New Day in a six-man tag team match. At the time, their alliance was being called “The League of Nations.”

The heart of the matter:

The upcoming post-‘Mania edition of RAW will take place at Orlando’s Amway Center. Arena promoters and staff are advertising locally that Rusev will be in action, along with the other stars of Monday Night RAW.

What's next?

It looks like the Amway Center is going to be making a lot of memories over the next few days, beginning tonight.

The venue, which is home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic, is a not only hosting NXT TakeOver: Orlando tonight, but the building will also host the upcoming episode of RAW, as well as Tuesday night's SmackDown LIVE.

Author’s take

I believe Rusev is but one small push away from becoming a legitimate top-tier Superstar. Having Lana in his corner has worked flawlessly and has made for compelling television.

Personally, I would still like to see Lana as an in-ring performer, but it seems that WWE creative has other plans for The Ravishing Russian and that's okay too.

With the conclusion of WrestleMania, a lot of angles will come to a close. This is a good thing for WWE Superstars due to the fact that the board is essentially wiped clean and new stories can begin.
