Ryback has real-life issues with John Cena and CM Punk

What’s the story?

On a recent edition of Conversation With The Big Guy, Ryback addressed the recent Rosemary-Sexy Star incident asserting that there’s no place for such shoots in professional wrestling.

He explained that that he’d never consider shooting on John Cena or CM Punk -- both of whom he’s had real-life heat with -- alluding to the fact that protecting the co-performer is the unwritten code of the sport.

Additionally, Ryback recalled the time he briefly used an MMA technique ergo Ground & Pound, in his WWE performances -- a move that the promotion eventually prohibited him from utilising inside the squared circle.

In case you didn’t know…

Ryback performed under the WWE umbrella for a fairly considerable tenure and now works on the independent circuit.

The man is widely considered to be one of the most controversial personalities in the business today, and is well-known for his highly-publicised real-life rivalries against John Cena and CM Punk.

The heart of the matter

Ryback initially jested that Sexy Star may not be really good at shooting (legitimately hurting one’s opponent) since she allegedly tried to break Rosemary’s arm but ended up giving the latter a mere sprain. However, Ryback elucidated that should the allegations against Sexy Star turn out to be true, there is no place for someone like her in the pro-wrestling business.

Furthermore, the Big Guy clarified that although he has legit heat with John Cena and CM Punk, he’d never consider pulling a Sexy Star kind of ‘shoot’ on them.

Ryback emphasised that wrestlers leave their lives in the hands of their co-performers and trust is one of the most important components of the game; in lieu of which a performer is never supposed to legit injure someone on purpose.

Besides, he revealed that WWE did ban him from using a potentially dangerous MMA GNP move in his stint with the company.

What’s next?

Ryback presently performs on the indie circuit. Meanwhile, the Sexy Star-Rosemary fiasco refuses to die down.

Author’s take

Ryback is spot-on in his analysis of shoots in professional wrestling.

Say what you want about the man, but he never breaks the code of the game, always preserving its sanctity. Here’s hoping we get closure on the Sexy Star shoot incident very soon.
