WWE News: Sami Zayn explains why he turned heel

Sami Zayn'
Sami Zayn's got some good reasons

In this week's episode of SmackDown, Sami Zayn said Kevin Owens powerbombing him on the ring apron opened his eyes to things. Zayn said his whole career has been about trying to please people and that he tried to be a good guy to put everyone's hopes and dreams on his shoulders, but it brought him all the way to mediocrity. Meanwhile, Owens raked in the prizes and accolades with his ruthlessness.

Zayn displayed a real verbal skill as he described first arriving on SmackDown Live with all the hopes of finally getting a fair shake on the WWE roster. But that didn't turn out too well either and Zayn said his first meeting with Shane McMahon was his last.

The former NXT Champion said he tried to warn McMahon about what Kevin Owens is capable of, but Shane brushed him off instead. This is when it really clicked in Zayn's head that Shane never cared about him.

Zayn went on to describe his experience while watching Shane McMahon face Kevin Owens at Hell In A Cell. "The Underdog From The Underground" said that helping his 'brother' Owens was the right thing to do as Shane McMahon "had become an absolute psychopath."

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn hugged in the ring after his explanation was over and then they hugged again. It was a great moment and a really great chance for Zayn to show what he can do when he's given a chance to have some fun in a story. And this new story with Kevin Owens is certainly going to be a lot of fun.
