WWE News: Samoa Joe comments on how Dean Ambrose's departure will affect WWE roster
What's the story?
Dean Ambrose's decision to leave WWE and not sign a new contract with the company is truly one of the most shocking pieces of news this year.
In a recent interview with The Tacoma News Tribune, WWE star Samoa Joe spoke about Ambrose's upcoming departure and how it will affect the entire WWE roster.
In case you didn't know...
Having initially signed with the WWE in 2011, Ambrose first started competing as part of the company's then-developmental brand, Florida Championship Wrestling (usually known as FCW) before being eventually promoted to the NXT brand.
In 2012, Ambrose, along with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, moved up to the main roster as they interfered in the main event of Survivor Series, helping CM Punk retain his WWE Championship.
The trio would eventually go on to dub themselves as The Shield and would solidify their place as one of the most menacing trios to ever step foot in WWE. Following the group's initial separation in 2014, Ambrose won his first WWE Championship and eventually went on to become a Grand Slam Champion.
The heart of the matter
During a recent interview with The Tacoma News Tribune, former NXT Champion, Samoa Joe gave his thoughts on Ambrose's departure from the WWE, praising 'The Lunatic Fringe' as a fantastic performer. (H/T: SEScoops)
“I think Dean’s the type that wants to do things that he’s into and if he’s not into what he’s doing at a certain time then he’ll have no problem stepping away and pursuing other things. If that’s the case then cool, more power to him.”
Further, Joe also said that Ambrose is the type of person who is willing to achieve all his goals at any cost while claiming that the former WWE Champion will also be missed once he is eventually gone.
“I think there are so many people who are wrapped up in the needs and wants of wanting to become a WWE superstar that they forget sometimes there other goals they want to achieve. I think Dean is a goal-oriented person and when he gets a goal in mind he’s going to try and accomplish it, more power to him. He will be missed.”
What's next?
As of right now, Ambrose is involved in a feud with EC3 on Monday Night Raw and on the most recent episode of Raw, the former seemingly turned face once again, in the build-up to WrestleMania 35.
