WWE News: Alexa Bliss to defend her title in a Fatal-4-Way match at No Mercy
What's the story?
WWE announced on their Youtube Channel that Sasha Banks invoked her rematch clause against the new Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. The title picture saw a lot of development after the most recent episode of Raw.
In case you didn't know....
Just two weeks after winning the Championship from Alexa at Summerslam, Sasha Banks was unable to retain her Raw Women's Championship, in the rematch when Alexa came calling.
Alexa won the match and was celebrating with Nia Jax, when her 'friend' Nia turned on her and attacked her with an Electric Chair.
With the feud heading in an obviously new direction, it was expected that Nia was the one who would get the chance at the title.
The heart of the matter
Sasha Banks became the Women's Champion at Summerslam, but like every other title defences of the boss, she lost the match. Sasha Banks invoked her contractual rematch clause for the title against Alexa at No Mercy.
She got the match, and now the two will face each other at No Mercy, where Sasha will look to regain her title.
In Raw, Kurt Angle made the clause that if Nia and Emma won their tag match against Sasha and Alexa, then they would be added to the match at No Mercy, making it a Fatal-4-way.
In the match, Nia and Emma were able to beat Sasha and Alexa, as Nia hit the Legdrop on Sasha, while Emma tagged herself in to pin the Boss.
Nia did not take to kindly to her stealing the credit and hit her with the Samoan drop after the match during the celebrations.
What's next?
This victory means that the match has now turned into a Fatal-4-way at No Mercy, and the odds that Sasha and Alexa had of emerging as the victor has been halved.
This comes at a bad time for Bliss, who is fresh off of retaining the title. Nia Jax looks like a favourite heading into the PPV after the latest twist.
Author's take
The match is going be a good one, with the women working well with each other. Nia and Alexa's storyline has now been included in the match, while not defying logic by denying Sasha her contractual rematch.
The Raw women's division's storylines are now making more sense than they have in a while.
