WWE News: Scott Steiner shoots on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a recent interview
What’s the story?
Scott Steiner recently spoke to NicksStrengthAndPower.com, a bodybuilding website, and when the subject of WWE was brought up, Steiner was very critical of the company, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. You can view the video in its entirety below:
You can view the whole video below, with the WWE references starting around the 1-minute mark.
The background
Steiner has spoken out against the WWE in the past as well. In an interview with WhatCulture last year, he claimed that he was offered a WWE Legends contract but turned it down because it “wasn’t worth the paper that it’s written on.”
In 2003, ‘Big Poppa Pump’ feuded with Triple H over the World Heavyweight Championship before leaving the company in 2004. Steiner has often criticised ‘The Game’ since he departed WWE, and the ill feelings he has for him and his wife, Stephanie, still seem to remain to this day.
The heart of the matter
During his interview with NicksStrengthAndPower.com last month, Steiner exclaimed, “F*** the WWE” as soon as the company was mentioned. When asked why he felt that way, Steiner did not hesitate to call out his former rival.
“Who’s in charge and who runs it, you know? There ain’t two bigger douchebags than Triple H and Stephanie [McMahon], you know? So…”
‘The Genetic Freak’ then went on a rant about the recent Ric Flair statue that was unveiled at this year’s WrestleMania Axxess.
“Let me ask you something. Why did Triple H make a statue of Ric Flair?…There’s no Hall of Fame, you got an address for the Hall of Fame?…Then where’s it at (the statue), what’s your guess?”
When the interviewer suggested that perhaps the statue was at Triple H’s house, Steiner replied, “Exactly…and they better not make one of The Macho Man”
This was in reference to an old rumour about an alleged relationship between Randy Savage and a young Stephanie McMahon. The interviewer then stated that he thought there was already a statue of Savage, which led to another outburst from Steiner.
“She made one? (Stephanie) Oh, that’s definitely in her bedroom.”
Author’s take
Steiner is not one to hold back and has become known for his unflinching and controversial comments, so this interview should come as no surprise. I’m guessing that Steiner has no desire of returning to WWE any time soon, and by calling out Triple H and Stephanie, he has certainly burned down any bridges that existed between him and the company.
