WWE News: Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman praises Bayley's night at Money on the Bank
What's the story?
Someone who had the best night at Money in the Bank was 'the Hugger', Bayley. She won the women's MITB ladder match and cashed it in later on in the night in order to become SmackDown Women's Champion.
Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman praised the night that Bayley had on his 1, 2, 360 podcast. WrestlingInc.com carried transcripts of his comments.
In case you missed it . . .
Bayley was not only split up from her tag team partner, Sasha Banks, but she was also moved to SmackDown during the Superstar Shake Up.
It worked out for her in the end as she not only pulled down the briefcase in the women's match but later cashed in on an overconfident Charlotte Flair after Flair had beaten Becky Lynch for the title.
The heart of the matter
The women's ladder match started off the PPV while the men's match ended the card. It was likely done to take advantage of Lynch's two title defences in the same night.
Some people were pleasantly surprised that 'the Hugger' not only won the briefcase but also the SmackDown Women's Title on the same night. The former X-Pac included himself among the people who were pleasantly surprised.
"It caught me off guard, and that's the thing, that's good," stated Waltman. "When you catch me off guard, that's a great thing. Because if you caught me off guard I am pretty sure you caught everyone off guard. Those are the types of things that make wrestling great, like when you get those 'Holy sh*t, oh f*** [chants].'
Since things had changed so much for Bayley right after WrestleMania 35, Waltman applauded her for sticking with things after the tumultuous few weeks.
"I was happy for Bayley because there's been some struggles concerning how she's been used… and [it was] well deserved."
What's next?
It's always nice to see the former generation of Superstars praise the current crop. The business has changed a lot in even the last ten years and someone like Bayley was instrumental in some of those changes.
She'll have a target on her back going forward now that she carries the top prize for the women on SmackDown.
