What's the story?

During the recent WWE Live event in New Delhi, India, Shield member Seth Rollins decided to pull off one of the most hilarious stunts in WWE live event history as he went on to impersonate former WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.

In case you didn't know...

Earlier today, WWE made their grand return to India, as they hosted a live event in New Delhi which featured the top superstars from the red brand of Monday Night Raw and also former WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal, who faced off in a star-studded match against "The King of Kings" Triple H.

The New Delhi crowd also got a chance to get a closer look at the likes of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Sasha Banks, Kishan Raftaar and Jeet Rama-- who are among two of the youngest upstarts in the WWE currently.

Additionally, the Indian crowd was also treated to the likes of the first Universal Champion Finn Balor, current Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss, and the one of the most of dominant groups in WWE history, The Shield, who went toe-to-toe with the trio of Samoa Joe and the current Raw Tag Team Champions, The Bar.

The heart of the matter

During the six-man tag team match between Samoa Joe and The Bar vs The Shield, former Raw Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins decided to imitate WWE legend Champion Hulk Hogan, as he [Rollins] first threw a big boot and then followed it up by doing Hulk Hogan's popular finisher, the Atomic Leg Drop (Running Leg Drop). Rollins would also go on and mimic the former NWO leader by doing his infamous "ear cup" pose and asked the Indian crowd to raise their volume, something that "The Hulkster" used to do during the 80s and 90s era.

However, that was not the end of the mimicry as Rollins' tag team partner Dean Ambrose also imitated Hulk Hogan by copying the 64-year-old's popular bicep flex pose, as "The Lunatic Fringe" along with "The Architect" received a great reaction from the New Delhi crowd.

Additionally, Braun Strowman ripped his t-shirt open in the iconic Hulk Hogan style. Must be an inside joke of some sorts. Whatever it is, it came across hilariously to the live audience.

What's next?

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are two of the most popular and over wrestlers on the current WWE roster today and them impersonating Hulk Hogan could possibly be a sign of respect towards the WWE legend, however, to some this move might be a bit controversial, as Hulk Hogan is currently blacklisted by the WWE due to the racial remarks that were made by the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion in the past.

Despite WWE removing all references to Hogan from their official website, current NXT senior producer and WWE COO Triple H has stated that the company is open to a Hulk Hogan return sometime down the road.

Author's take

I think Rollins and Ambrose impersonating Hulk Hogan is something that was done by the two Shield members in order to hype the New Delhi crowd and to get a good reaction out of the WWE Universe in India.
