WWE News: Seth Rollins names his dream WrestleMania opponent
What's the story?
Seth Rollins was recently interviewed by Amarillo Globe-News. We thank Wrestling Inc. for excerpts from the very same.
When asked about whom Rollins wants to face at WrestleMania, the current RAW Tag Team Champion expressed his desire to be in the main event match. The Kingslayer had no qualms about facing either the reigning WWE or Universal Champion, at the 'Show of Shows'.
In case you didn't know...
Seth Rollins is no stranger to the main event of WrestleMania at all. After all, we all remember him cashing in his 'Money in the Bank' contract in the main event of WrestleMania 31.
At present, however, Rollins competes in the tag team division on RAW where he holds the gold with Jason Jordan. While he's still a top player, he's no longer got the same kind of momentum that he once had.
The heart of the matter
Seth Rollins was asked about his WrestleMania dream opponent, and wasted no time to specify that he would love to take on whoever was Champion, in the main event of WWE's grandest annual show:
There are a ton of guys I'd love to work with at a WrestleMania. For me, I want to be in the main event of WrestleMania selling the tickets to that show. Whether it's Brock Lesnar or AJ Styles. Either one of those guys I'd love to look toward being in the ring with when the time comes.
He also weighed in on the recent Shield reunion:
To see the scale in which people were excited about it was pretty cool. I wasn't really anticipating how incredible it was. It was a nice experience and kind of surreal. It was just awesome to be out there with those guys again and get that reaction.
What's next?
For now, Rollins and Jordan team up to face The Bar, at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, in just a few weeks, where they will defend their titles.
Author's take
I loved Rollins as a heel champion. He seems to have lost a step, even though he's always in the mix when it comes to being booked in a really strong manner.
Also, I would have loved to see The Shield reunited for a longer time, but unfortunately Ambrose's injury did play spoilsport!
