WWE News: Seth Rollins recalls worrying entrance where he almost passed out
Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 in April 2019 to win the Universal Championship for the first time in his career.
Speaking on WWE’s new ‘Break It Down’ YouTube series, the former Shield member revealed that he was so “fired up” for the match that he legitimately almost passed out during his entrance.
Footage from WrestleMania, which you can see at the 08:56 mark of the video below, showed Rollins looking disorientated as he stared out into the 80,000+ fans in attendance at MetLife Stadium. He then steadied himself and began to pace down the ramp.
“I was so amped up, so fired up for that match for Brock Lesnar that I legitimately almost passed out on my entrance. No joke, I don’t know if you can ever catch it but there’s a moment where I’m drifting kind of back to the centre of the ramp, and I’m glossed over because when you get so fired up and it’s that feeling when you’ve been lying down or sitting down for too long and you stand up and you get light-headed.”
The 2019 Royal Rumble winner jokingly added that he did not know whether the match was going to happen or whether he would have to be carted off the stage at the start of WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins’ WWE status in 2019
After finally conquering Brock Lesnar once and for all at SummerSlam to reclaim the Universal Championship, Seth Rollins defeated Braun Strowman in the main event of Clash of Champions in September to keep hold of RAW’s top male title.
Since then, he retained the title against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a controversial Hell in a Cell match, while he is currently preparing to face Wyatt in a Falls Count Anywhere rematch at Crown Jewel on October 31.
Due to the referee stopping the previous meeting between the two men at Hell in a Cell, WWE has confirmed that the upcoming rematch “cannot be stopped for any reason”.
