WWE News: Seth Rollins saves Roman Reigns after Monday Night RAW went off the air
This episode of Monday Night RAW was one filled with action and a lot of drama. The entire WWE Universe was eagerly waiting for the episode as it was the first RAW with Kevin Owens as Universal Champion. Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley took to the ring to address last week’s incidents that culminated in Kevin Owens becoming the new WWE Universal Champion.
In a segment that saw Kevin Owens decked up in a suit and celebrating his win, Seth Rollins crashed the party to confront Stephanie McMahon.
This was just the beginning of a story that would, in fact, continue for the rest of the night. Mick booked Owens in a match with Sami Zayn, and after Chris Jericho called him a “Stupid idiot”, Foley set up another match between Jericho and Rollins. It was a good match with Rollins prevailing with a pedigree and scoring the pinfall.
Kevin Owens also put up an impressive show against Sami Zayn, but Owens’ celebrations were cut short by Roman Reigns. Reigns came out to a chorus of boos followed by Jericho, who came in support of KO. Foley tried to bring order and announced a match for next week. He said that Reigns would face Owens in a match next week and if he won, he would enter the match at Clash of Champions, making it a triple threat for the Universal Championship.
Jericho then blindsided Reigns after the announcement but Reigns countered with a spear.
As RAW went off the air, Owens teamed up with Jericho and attacked Reigns. The duo went on to beat Reigns down when Seth Rollins hit the ring to make the save. Owens and Jericho retreated from the ring in a scene that was reminiscent of the S.H.I.E.L.D. days. In a shocker, Rollins’s efforts weren’t appreciated by Reigns as he speared Rollins and celebrated in typical Roman Reigns style to end the show.
