WWE News: Seth Rollins speaks about breaking John Cena's nose, facing Sting, the origin of "Seth Rollins" and more

Seth Rollins said that he apologized “profusely” after breaking John Cena’s nose on the road to last year's Summerslam

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins recently spoke with CBS Atlanta 92.8’s The Game Mornings on Thursday. Hugh Jackson and John Fricke were also part of the interview. He spoke about breaking John Cena’s nose, his appearance in Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, facing Sting, and more.

On breaking Cena’s nose, Rollins said: “I remember I just crushed his nose and he was just disfigured and dismembered. I was shocked he made it to SummerSlam healthy as he did…I apologized profusely. John Cena and I wrestled a million times and every once in a while you’d get a clunker in there but this one was just for some reason, I just made real contact with his face, and rearranged it pretty bad…Wrestling is as real as it gets when it comes to injuries."

Rollins said that he has had great responses from friends and fans alike on his appearance Sharknado 4. Rollins spoke briefly of his pre-WWE days when he wrestled on the independents and Ring of Honor as Tyler Black. Once he went to WWE, he had to get a new name, so he showed Dusty Rhodes a list of names he had come up with. “Rollins” came from Henry Rollins, the comedian and singer, who he is a big fan of. Dusty decided on Seth as he felt it connected.

On facing Sting, Rollins said: “That was certainly not planned to be his final match, but either way it was an honor. He’s an incredible dude. One thing about Steve [Sting] is that he’s one of the most humble superstars I’ve ever met.

Rollins stated that he is excited to get in the ring with Finn Balor at Summerslam as they had never crossed paths, despite having similar backgrounds.

Rollins said that there is no better time to be a professional wrestling fan than now as there is so much talent across the two rosters on Raw Smackdown, and NXT as well, so it is an opportunity to make a mark.

On superstars he looks forward to wrestling in the New Era: “Enzo & Cass are two people I’d love to be in the ring with at some point, the Finn match was something that was really unexpected and came out of nowhere. That was a huge one I think. There are guys like Samoa Joe who are doing very well who I’d love to get in the ring with, Shinsuke Nakamura. There are a bunch of them, a plethora of matches.”
