WWE News: Seth Rollins speaks on reviving The Curb Stomp
What’s the story?
WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins was doing media this week for WWE to promote the Greatest Royal Rumble event. During one of his multiple interviews, Rollins spoke about bringing back The Curb Stomp.
In case you didn’t know...
Seth Rollins had been using The Curb Stomp as his finishing move in WWE since his early days in NXT, and brought it along to the main roster with him.
Although it hasn't been known to cause any injuries, WWE decided to ban the move back in 2015, due to the possibility of it being dangerous, and children potentially using it. Surprisingly, WWE decided to bring the move back and allowed Rollins to start using it again back in January.
The heart of the matter
During one of his interviews, Seth spoke about reviving The Curb Stomp.
Seth said, "You know, I can’t divulge the entire story. Maybe some other time. It’ll be good for a DVD or a Network special or something like that. I will say that I was very happy to see it come back. It wasn’t a long-term plan, I knew way in advance, but I was happy to get it back.
"That is another thing this year that really put me on a very good trajectory. It felt good, man. The surprise in the audience and the reaction I got online was really cool, too. I’m glad to take it around the world now, it’s been a good experience."
What's next?
Seth Rollins is the current Intercontinental champion, and will part of the Greatest Royal Rumble, this Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Author's take
Rollins isn't the only one happy to see The Curb Stomp back. I thought The Curb Stomp was one of the best and most impactful finishers in WWE over the last number of years, so I was very glad to see it return.
