WWE News: Seth Rollins takes shot at Brock Lesnar during interview

Seth Rollins had some very interesting words for Brock Lesnar.
Seth Rollins had some very interesting words for Brock Lesnar.

What's the story?

Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 to win The Universal title, and followed through on his promise of being a fighting champion. In fact, he decided to put his title on the line the next night on Monday Night Raw against Kofi Kingston, but the match ended in disqualification when The Bar attacked the duo.

With that being said, Rollins did an interview with Daily Express this week and was asked a bunch of questions about his rivalry with Brock Lesnar. While Rollins was vocal about Lesnar not being a fighting champion, The Beastslayer did admit that he would give Lesnar a rematch if he asked for one.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar hasn't been seen or heard from since losing the Universal title at WrestleMania 35, and the only word the company would release on the matter was that he was in negotiations with Dana White. Unfortunately for WWE, that storyline has lost weight.

Even worse however is the rumor going around about Lesnar wanting to retire from WWE at WrestleMania 36, which would mean the company would no longer have The Beast to rely on. It would also mean that they would need to establish a new top guy, but that has become troublesome for the company to do at times.

The heart of the matter

During the interview with Daily Express, Rollins talked about giving Lesnar a rematch for the Universal title, what Lesnar did to the belt, and being a fighting champion. Of course its pretty safe to say that Rollins was in character for the majority of this interview, but the shots he took at Lesnar are still nothing to glare over.

While Brock Lesnar is living and breathing he is most certainly a capable challenger for the Universal Championship. I beat him once so I’m not afraid to giving it another shot.
I think he thought that he could make it more prestigious but to me, having the title on the show every week and being a champion that defends the title on a regular basis only makes the title and its legacy grow.

What's next?

Seth Rollins is scheduled to face AJ Styles in a dream match at Money in The Bank, while Lesnar silently waits in the shadows for his rematch. With that being said and rumors circulating that Lesnar wants to retire after WrestleMania 36, it's likely that Lesnar comes looking for Rollins sooner than later.
