WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura's first social media post after turning heel
What's the story?
WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura posted on Twitter for the first time since turning heel on WWE Champion AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34 and then attacking Styles and Daniel Bryan during the main event of SmackDown Live this week.
In case you didn't know...
Shinsuke Nakamura began wrestling professionally in 2002 with New Japan Pro Wrestling. During his decorated career with the company, he was IWGP Intercontinental Champion five times and the IWGP Heavyweight Champion a total of three times.
The heart of the matter
It's clear from this tweet as well as his interview with Renee Young on SmackDown Live, he feels like he's doing nothing wrong. He'll even say he's not doing anything wrong, but then give you a wink. It's a side of Nakamura that the NXT and WWE Universes have not seen since he made his debut in 2016.
The shocking turn happened in the aftermath of the WWE championship match at WrestleMania with AJ Styles. Nakamura appeared to drop to one knee to present Styles with the title but ended up delivering a low blow.
On the SmackDown Live after Mania, it was Styles and Daniel Bryan in the main event, but Nakamura interrupted the match and attacked both WWE Superstars.
What's next?
Now that Daniel Bryan is involved in the turn of Shinsuke Nakamura, things should get really interesting when SmackDown Live heads to the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, next week. It will be interesting to see if Bryan gets added into this feud for a potential dream triple threat match at Backlash.
Author's take
If this week's SmackDown Live is any indication of how Nakamura's heel run is going to go, I'm excited about where it may potentially go. The execution of the turn was brilliantly done at WrestleMania, and Nakamura was both funny and dangerous as a heel, and that will be an entertaining combination going forward.
I fully expected the Styles and Nakamura feud would go all the way to SummerSlam, but if they add Daniel Bryan to this, it makes this dream feud even better.
