WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura segment for SmackDown announced
What’s the story?
The WWE has announced that this week's episode of SmackDown Live will have a segment featuring Shinsuke Nakamura. Dolph Ziggler will reportedly call out the ‘King of Strong Style’ during the episode. This was first reported by our Featured Contributor Billi Bhatti here last month.
In case you didn’t know...
Rumours suggest that Shinsuke Nakamura will not feature in a matchup on TV until Backlash, this is to better promote and hype up the match between him and Dolph Ziggler. Despite not featuring in any matches on TV, Nakamura has fought a number of dark matches already.
The heart of the matter
The WWE has announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will appear in a segment on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, London.
It has been reported that Dolph Ziggler will call out Nakamura and this will most probably lead to an exchange of words between the two. The confrontation will ultimately lead to a scuffle and will probably end with Ziggler leaving the ring after receiving a beat down from Nakamura.
However, it is believed that the main purpose of this segment is to finally announce the singles match at Backlash between the two.
The announcement will further add to the hype that has been created by the rumour that Nakamura won’t be featured in a TV match until Backlash. The fact is, no matter what has been booked for him, Shinsuke Nakamura will definitely become a huge superstar on the SmackDown Live roster.
What’s next?
Supposing that the WWE does announce the singles match for Backlash, the fans will have a lot to look forward to in terms of appearances from the ‘King of Strong Style’. It will be interesting to see how WWE plans the segment given that Nakamura isn’t the best at promos.
Author’s take
The announcement comes as great news for the fans. The WWE Universe has been riding on the wave known as Shinsuke Nakamura and they have been loving every minute of it.
Nakamura is exactly what SmackDown Live need in terms of a great baby face after losing the likes of Dean Ambrose. Needless to say, Nakamura is definitely going to make one heck of a splash after Backlash.
