WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura takes on Dolph Ziggler once again after Smackdown goes off the air
What’s the story?
After SmackDown Live went off the air this week, Dolph Ziggler took on Shinsuke Nakamura for the third week in a row. A number of photos, videos and tweets of the match surfaced on Twitter shortly after.
In case you didn’t know....
The King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura and the Showoff Dolph Ziggler are expected to start a full-fledged feud very soon. Hence, before it happens, the WWE is keen on testing the waters by putting the duo in a weekly dark match after both SmackDown and 205 Live.
Apparently, this week was no different.
The Heart of the matter
The dark match saw the King of Strong Style defeat the Showoff yet again, making it 3 weeks in a row. Here is a video and a photo from the match, tweeted by some fans:

The face won, as is the norm in dark match, and this sent fans home happy.
What’s next?
WWE is very happy with how over Nakamura is with the fans. He is expected to get a monster feud as soon as his program with Ziggler is over. Creative might keep booking him in dark matches to test the waters and to get Nakamura completely ready and going for the main roster and bigger feuds.
The two are expected to start a proper full-fledged feud very soon, possibly having a match at Smackdown LIVE’s exclusive pay-per-view, Backlash.
Author’s take
The decision to make Nakamura work dark matches weekly is a wise move by the WWE. Nakamura is arguably the most popular star in the company right now and there’s no other Superstar who can end the show while delivering the same amount of satisfaction.
This move also helps him majorly as he gets to know the difference between NXT and the main roster and adjust accordingly. I am very hyped for his feud with Ziggler as the latter has a reputation for being an amazing seller. With Nakamura’s stiff kicks and Ziggler’s perfect selling, the WWE Universe is surely in for some marky moments.
