WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled in a dark match following SmackDown Live
What’s the story?
Following the conclusion of this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, 'The King of Strong Style', Shinsuke Nakamura, was seen in action in a singles contest after the cameras stopped filming
In case you didn’t know…
After his devastating WWE Championship loss to AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34, Shinsuke Nakamura pulled-off the unthinkable by turning heel.
'The King of Strong Style', turned his back on the WWE Universe and, AJ Styles as well, after hitting 'The Phenomenal One' with a wicked low blow.
The heart of the matter
As noted, on last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, Shinsuke Nakamura was not seen competing in any sort of singles or Tag Team matches. The only bit of action Nakamura was involved in on the night, saw him interfere in the main event of the evening between Daniel Bryan and, WWE Champion AJ Styles.
After running into the match between Bryan and Styles, Nakamura hit a Kinsasha on Daniel Bryan first (thus letting him win the match via disqualification), and eventually turned his focus towards AJ Styles, who once again suffered the wrath of yet another low blow from 'The Artist', which was followed up by a Kinsasha as well.
However, after the cameras stopped filming in New Orleans, Nakamura was seen competing in a dark match against his former adversary Dolph Ziggler, who despite a valiant effort, couldn’t overcome Nakamura, who earned the win for himself via a Kinsasha.
What’s next?
Following the aftermath of WrestleMania 34, Shinsuke Nakamura is now likely to challenge AJ Styles to yet another match, and could very look to get his hands on the WWE title as well.
With the co-branded Backlash pay-per-view set to take place next month, we could very well witness a rematch between Styles and Nakamura.
Author’s Take
Personally, I feel it is too soon for WWE to book the rematch between Nakamura and Styles.
However, this time I can guarantee that these two men will definitely steal the show and, we could eventually also witness a Triple Threat match between Styles, Nakamura, and Daniel Bryan in the future as well.
