WWE News: Sin Cara shares photo of his injury
What's the story?
According to the recent reports, Sin Cara was seriously injured at a Smackdown house show which took place in Madrid, Spain on the 5th November 2017.
Sin Cara, who had debuted as Hunico did not receive much success and was remodeled as the masked luchador 'Sin Cara' in 2013. Sin Cara, whose real name is Jorje Arias, was then made a part of a team with Kalisto. The duo known as 'Lucha Dragons' were able to secure the NXT Tag Team Championships; the only championship that Sin Cara has ever held in the WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Sin Cara has suffered a major knee injury while performing in front of the house show audience in Spain. Cara had fallen awkwardly during his triple threat match with Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn which resulted in this injury.
Reports state that the superstar seemed to be in immense pain and was seen clutching his leg even as the match rolled on before Cara had to signal for medical help. His injury was so severe and he needed help to walk back.
The heart of the matter
It is rather unfortunate that Sin Cara has been injured during a time like this when he was in the middle of receiving a major push.
Cara had been feuding with Baron Corbin for the past few weeks on SmackDown, even picking up wins over 'the Lonewolf' via count out and DQ.
Sin Cara had recently renewed his WWE contract and entered into a new deal with the company, which is the speculated reason behind his push.
Cara has recently shared a picture of his gruesome injury, as can be seen below :
What's next?
With Sin Cara now out due to injury, it is unlikely that his recent push will resume once he gets back. Although, it was doubtful that he would actually be able to take the US Championship from Baron Corbin, a high-profile Championship match with Corbin would have been beneficial for his career trajectory.
It can only be hoped that the former NXT Tag Team Champion will be able to regain his momentum upon his return.
Corbin will likely enter into a program with someone like Bobby Roode once Survivor Series is over.
Author's take
It is always unfortunate when a superstar suffers a severe injury, especially in the midst of a push.Sin Cara has been a loyal worker and it was good to see him getting a well-deserved move up the ladder.
I hope that he recovers as soon as possible and is able to continue making a mark on Smackdown even if he won't be involved in the US Title picture.
