WWE News: SmackDown champion possibly injured during title match
It never fails that WWE will experience a few setbacks on the way to a big show and Survivor Series is no different. The champions of Raw are set to face the champions from SmackDown. This means the tag team champions from either brand would be best served if they could stay healthy.
Now it looks like there's going to be another roadblock on the way to Survivor Series because Jey Uso could have reportedly suffered an injury on SmackDown Live this week.
They are taping from Manchester while on their European tour and the Blue Team brought a packed show to the table with a couple big title matches.
However, when The Usos defended their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin it didn't turn out the way The Samoan brothers would have preferred.
The Usos actually won their match like true heels via count out which is a hollow victory, to say the least. But they got to keep their SmackDown Tag Team Championships event it wasn't the best news for Jey Uso because after taking a chop block to the leg he appeared to be injured.
This match was reportedly cut short after Jey Uso went down after taking a bad bump to his leg. Some fans in attendance said it appeared Jey was clutching his knee when he went down.
This is not good timing, to say the least. After all, the champion vs champion tag team match for Survivor Series had just been altered with Sheamus and Cesaro capturing the Raw Tag Team Championships from Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins after some help from The New Day.
It's a good thing WWE has another week to move all of the pieces to where they belong because the Survivor Series card might still need some tweaking at this point if Jey is unable to compete in WWE's November Classic.
