WWE News: SmackDown Live shockingly invades Monday Night Raw

SmackDown LIVE just went full heel
SmackDown LIVE just went full heel

What's the story?

On Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon showed the world that he's taking Survivor Series incredibly seriously when he instigated a siege, leading almost the entire SmackDown LIVE roster to attack the Raw Superstars backstage.

In case you didn't know...

Survivor Series is the only WWE pay-per-view where you'll see SmackDown LIVE Superstars vs Monday Night Raw Superstars, and we've already seen a whole host of exciting matches announced.

We're getting Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar, Alexa Bliss vs Natalya, The Usos vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, The Miz vs Baron Corbin and a men's and women's traditional Survivor Series match.

The heart of the matter

Raw was supposed to close out with Kurt Angle announcing who will be on his team at Survivor Series. However, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon made his presence felt 'Shield' style when he and almost the entire SmackDown LIVE roster entered through the crowd.

Angle managed to run to the back after McMahon menacing told him that they were under siege. The SmackDown roster then meticulously and brutally went through the backstage area, room by room, attacking anybody that they came across without impunity, in scenes incredibly reminiscent of the Nexus invasion.

Once most of the Raw roster, including Titus Worldwide, Matt Hardy, Finn Balor and The Shield had been laid out by the 20+ invading SmackDown LIVE Superstars, they dragged Angle back out into the ring so that McMahon could give him a message. This is what would happen at Survivor Series.

What's next?

I don't think I've ever seen Kurt Angle look more overwhelmed, regardless of how I feel about it, this was must-see television and will get everyone in the WWE Universe talking. It seems that this year's Survivor Series will have more at stake than just 'bragging rights'. Clearly SmackDown LIVE is now also must-watch.

Author's take

I'm not even really sure what just happened? Did all of SmackDown LIVE just turn heel? What happens now? Who is going to be on team Raw following that beatdown? I have so many questions, which means the WWE has definitely got this right!
