WWE News: SmackDown Live Superstar appears to get a new entrance theme
What's the story?
The SmackDown Live roster is currently touring South America and they were in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 21, 2017. Thanks to Twitter user @svperflair, it seems that Tamina has new entrance music. You can find the video below:
In case you didn't know...
Tamina is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka as well as the brother of former WWE wrestler Sim Snuka who wrestled as Deuce in a tag team with Domino in 2007 and 2008.
Tamina started wrestling professionally in 2009 and has been in the WWE system for almost her entire career.
The heart of the matter
Tamina's new entrance music has more of a hip-hop feel to it compared to her previous music that was more tribal to celebrate her Fijian and Samoan heritage. For comparison sake, take a look at the video below of her previous entrance theme:
Tamina returned from injury to SmackDown Live this past April and earned more chances at becoming a WWE Women's Champion this year than in years past. Most recently, she competed in a Fatal-4-Way to determine the #1 contender for Natalya's title, but she came up short in the match, which Charlotte Flair ultimately won.
What's next?
The next major event for the women of SmackDown Live is Survivor Series on Sunday, November 19th. It is possible that we could see a Raw vs. SmackDown 5-on-5 women's traditional Survivor Series match, but nothing is official at the time of this writing.
Author's take
I like the energy of Tamina's new theme compared to her previous one. It's hard for the WWE Universe to get excited when the previous music hit, it was just boring to me.
It'll be interesting to see if she gets a bigger push going forward. She's definitely been in the title chase a lot more in 2017 than previously in her career.
