WWE News: SmackDown Live teases tension between authority figuresĀ

Is there trouble in paradise?
Is there trouble in paradise?

What's the story?

The SmackDown Live roster invaded RAW when the red brand went to Green Bay for a show, and laid the entire locker room to utter waste. This attack was perpetrated and orchestrated by none other than the SmackDown Live Commissioner, Shane McMahon.

This week on SmackDown Live, we saw Daniel Bryan annoyed with the fact that he was not informed about the attack on brand RAW. It seems like WWE is teasing dissent between the GM and the Commissioner of the blue brand.

In case you didn't know...

Throughout WWE History, whenever there has been more than one authority figure (Eric Bischoff- Steve Austin, Stephanie McMahon- Mick Foley, to name some) as part of the same brand, it has always led to chaos.

Surprisingly, Bryan and McMahon have been on the same page, since the brand split last year, thus far. Could the dynamics change after what transpired this very week, in the weeks that follow?

The heart of the matter

Bryan seemed peeved with McMahon with regard to two distinct points, this week. He was annoyed with the fact that despite the fact that they were teammates, he wasn't informed about putting RAW under seige, on television. Secondly, he did not agree with the invasion itself.

McMahon reminded Bryan who was in charge, making us wonder if it will have consequences for the future. At the end of the show, McMahon asked Bryan why he was worried, considering that RAW did not respond at all. Bryan told McMahon that they will, in the future.

What's next?

The seeds have been planted for a pretty intriguing program. Can the two men put aside their differences to lead Team Blue to a win at Survivor Series? Or will the gulf between the two men grow, as time passes?

Author's take

I like it. SmackDown Live is scared of repercussions from the significantly more stacked RAW roster, and it is natural for the authority figures to be on edge, as a consequence of the same, of course. SmackDown Live lacks any real drama, and this could help the brand attain the same.
