WWE News: SmackDown star claims she is ready for Asuka
What's the story
As we saw tonight on SmackDown Live, Asuka took a loss against Mandy Rose in an impromptu non-title match thanks to some shenanigans pulled by "The Goddess". We also saw Lacey Evans make a cameo appearance that threw Asuka for a loop. In response to everything that we witnessed, a certain "Ravishing" WWE Superstar took to Twitter to let the champ know that she too is "ready for Asuka".
In case you didn't know...
Lana recently suffered an ankle injury at the Royal Rumble event from a fall during the Rusev-Shinsuke Nakamura match in January that would result in Lana being unable to compete in the Women's Royal Rumble match. Lana has been on the sidelines, but is obviously anxious to get back in the ring and challenge the SmackDown Live Women's Champion!
The heart of the matter
During tonight's broadcast, Lana released a tweet in response to the promo Asuka had cut in the ring, to which Mandy Rose answered the impromptu challenge. This is what Lana had to say. Not sure if WWE will be going anywhere with this or if it's just a deal to get Lana some added attention and exposure.
What's next
WWE Fastlane will be live on March 10th on the WWE Network. No official match has been set yet for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship, but this would certainly for an interesting contest. Asuka lost some momentum tonight to Mandy Rose and was thrown off her game when we saw Lacey Evans make a cameo appearance. Lana is throwing her name into the hat as a teaser, so we will see if anything transpires beyond this tweet from the "Ravishing Russian".
