WWE News: SmackDown Superstars continue to send a message to Raw on Twitter

Shades
Shades of the WWE Invasion of 2001

What's the story?

In a scene that was reminiscent of WCW and ECW's invasion of the WWE after Vince McMahon purchased WCW from Ted Turner, the SmackDown Live roster led by Commissioner Shane McMahon on this week's Raw.

After the takeover was complete, several SmackDown Live Superstars continued the trash talking on Twitter afterwards. Take a look at those posts below:

In case you didn't know...

On Monday Night Raw last night, the General Manager Kurt Angle was going to close the show with his five WWE Superstars that would make up team Raw on the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match.

Before Angle revealed anyone, Shane McMahon's music hit and he was in the crowd with the entire SmackDown Live roster, and what happened from there, was pure chaos.

The heart of the matter

WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin sent a very stern message to his Survivor Series opponent WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, and ended it with a hilarious suggestion that he should stay home and play dress up with his wife (referring to the video of Miz and Maryse revealing the gender of their baby).

AJ Styles wrestled for the Raw branded pay-per-view, Tables, Ladders and Chairs, and teamed with The Shield's Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, to take on The Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus. But his video sent a message that he still belongs to the house that he built, SmackDown Live.

The New Day posted the most entertaining message as they filmed their own edition of Ride Along while singing along to a tune changing the words to "oh baby we don't like Raw."

The rest of the messages simply sent the Raw roster a message of who is superior.

What's next?

With SmackDown Live happening tonight from the BMO Harris Bank Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will the roster of Monday Night Raw be able to rally to respond? We'll find out that answer in a few short hours.

Author's take

While some hated the segment because it made all of the babyfaces of SmackDown Live heels last night, I believe it is something that the WWE can get past after Survivor Series with good booking.

I really enjoyed SmackDown Live's "Under Siege" moment to end Monday Night Raw. It was a unique finish, and it got me to care about the brand vs. brand match-up, where I didn't really care about it before Raw last night.
