WWE News: SmackDown women react to Women's Title shot being scrapped
What's the story?
Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Naomi recently shared their views on the SmackDown Title opportunity being scrapped.
The match was replaced by Asuka vs Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Title, which Charlotte ended up winning.
In case you didn't know...
A Fatal Four Way match was announced for tonight's SmackDown Live, with Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Naomi competing for a shot at the SmackDown Women's Title at WrestleMania 35 against Asuka.
A last minute change saw the match being scrapped in favor of a one-on-one match between Charlotte and Asuka for the title. Charlotte ended winning the whole thing and will head to WrestleMania as the SmackDown Women's Champion.
The poster for the Raw Women's title triple threat match has now been changed with the new graphic showing Charlotte holding the blue belt on her shoulder.
The heart of the matter
The four women who were about to compete in the Fatal Four Way match tonight expressed their displeasure on the match getting scrapped at the last moment. Each of these four women was hoping to win the match and go on to WrestleMania to face Asuka.
Sonya seemed really pissed off at what had occurred and voiced her disgust via a tweet.
Mandy Rose tweeted that WWE had put all the equity on the wrong blonde.
Carmella simply tweeted an emoji, followed by the words, "Push through".
Naomi went the Carmella route and posted a subtle tweet, containing a single word: 'welp'.
What's next?
It seems that all of these women would get relegated to the Women's battle royal at WrestleMania, considering all of them are out of the title picture. Additionally, Asuka has had a rough night and it's still not confirmed what she is going to do at The Show of Shows.
