Stephanie McMahon has had many iconic moments in the history of Monday Night Raw

What's the story?

The Mirror recently interviewed WWE Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, who was promoting the Raw 25 special coming up this Monday. In the interview they discussed her first segment ever on Raw as well as her favorite segment of all-time.

In case you didn't know...

Stephanie McMahon was involved in quite a few of the top 25 moments in Raw history as voted on by the WWE Universe.

When Triple H revealed that he drugged Stephanie and married her in Las Vegas during what was supposed to be her marriage to Test, was at #19.

The shocking return of Shane McMahon during Stephanie's legacy award ceremony was at #14.

Finally, she was in the middle of Daniel Bryan's "Occupy Raw" movement that led to Bryan v. Triple H at WrestleMania XXX, and that moment was ranked #3.

The heart of the matter

The first time that Stephanie McMahon appeared on Monday Night Raw was on the November 30th episode in 1998. Last month, Stephanie would post a picture of that moment on Instagram:

#TBT 11/30/98 - 19 years ago TODAY I made my first TV appearance backstage on RAW as an extra w @steveaustinbsr

There wasn't much to the segment for Stephanie, she ran into Stone Cold Steve Austin who was on a mission to look for The Undertaker and he asked her where he was.

When the Mirror asked her about that moment, she mentioned that a lot of things on Raw are done run-and-gun, or on the fly. She just happened to be at the right place at the right time and was asked to be a backstage extra for that moment.

It wasn't a strategic decision for Stephanie McMahon, Vince's daughter, to make her debut on television. I was really just an extra in the moment. And it was incredible. I mean to be a part of the show, with Austin? That was certainly a memorable moment for me.

A couple of months later, Stephanie would become involved in her first major storyline when the Undertaker abducted her and Austin would make the save.

The Mirror would then ask Stephanie what her favorite moment of Monday Night Raw was over the past 25 years, and the answer may or may not surprise you, but it was a very recent moment. Stephanie says the moment she announced the first women's Royal Rumble in WWE history was the best one of them all.

Regarding that moment, Stephanie said:

The women in the ring didn't know what I was going to say. We were chastised by some fans because we broke character and I told the women earlier in the day - they knew I was coming out but they didn't know what I was going to say - I told them react naturally, don't feel like you have to be in character, it's okay for you to react however you want to react, to whatever I'm going to say. We all broke character that night.

What's next?

Raw 25 is just a couple days away when it takes place from both the Manhattan Center and Barclays Center of New York City. Several past WWE Superstars will be in attendance such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Trish Stratus.

Author's take

I thought that was some great insight to Stephanie's Raw debut with Stone Cold Steve Austin. That was a fact I didn't know with the quick chance encounter backstage was her first time on Monday night television.

Some think it's cliche for Stephanie to pick the women's Royal Rumble announcement as her favorite moment of everything she was involved in on Raw, but it was a truly incredible moment and the next step forward in the Women's Revolution. Something that Stephanie is very passionate about.
