WWE News: Taz explains why WWE won't change course with Roman Reigns
What’s the story?
Om the latest episode of ‘The Taz Show’, former ECW Champion Taz explained why WWE will continue to book Roman Reigns the same way.
In case you didn’t know...
Taz made his WWE debut back in the 2000 Royal Rumble at Madison Square Garden. In his debut match, the Human Suplex Machine defeated Kurt Angle, who was previously undefeated. Taz was also part of an interesting match during his first WWE spell when he returned to ECW to wrestle Mike Awesome, who was contracted to WCW at the time, for the ECW Championship
The heart of the matter
At one point during the show, one of the listeners called in and asked Taz why WWE is persisting with booking Roman Reigns as a babyface.
Taz said that WWE feels they know what is best when it comes to making such decisions. He added that Vince McMahon is not going to allow the fans to change his mind. Additionally, Taz compared Roman Reigns to John Cena, who was in a similar predicament in 2006.

He concluded his opinion by saying that the only thing WWE wants from Reigns is to garner a reaction, which he is accomplishing nowadays. In the end, Taz wasn’t hesitant to say that Reigns is probably the most over wrestler on the WWE roster, as garnering a reaction is what being ‘over’ means.
What’s next?
The opinion from Taz throws some light onto how WWE is booking Roman Reigns. Their idea of pushing the Samoan is unlikely to change anytime soon, and the comparison with John Cena might be spot-on. The explanation from Taz is not going to have a direct impact on WWE’s booking decisions, but it might be an eye opener for the fans.
Author’s take
The fact that the current fan reaction only validates WWE’s booking of Reigns will be hard to digest for some. But then again, what Taz said cannot be disputed. Getting a reaction is a professional wrestler’s priority. Reigns excels in this category and as long as we bomb him with our hate, WWE will be urged to push him more.
