WWE News: The Bullet Club finally reunite on Raw
What's the story?
Ever since Finn Balor was promoted to the main roster, it has been teased that he would be joining his former teammates and that The Bullet Club would reform as part of WWE.
After almost a year of teasing a reunion finally, this week on Raw Finn Balor teamed up with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to take on Elias, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.
In case you didn't know...
The Bullet Club has already been seen in one form in WWE as AJ Styles teamed up with Gallows and Anderson a number of times before he was drafted over to SmackDown Live. Of course, Finn was the original leader of the Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling before he came to WWE back in 2014, and AJ Styles then took his place.
This is the first time since the build-up to Survivor Series back in November that The Bullet Club have been seen together on WWE TV (and even then they were only side by side) with the company teasing their union a number of times ahead of this segment on the first Raw of 2018.
The heart of the matter
Finn Balor needed to find two partners to take on Elias, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel on Raw after a number of issues with the trio over the past few weeks. Finn shocked the WWE Universe when he revealed to Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle, that the partners he had chosen were his former Bullet Club teammates Gallows and Anderson.
The trio was able to win the match after Luke Gallows landed a superkick on Bo Dallas, followed by the Magic Killer and a Coupe De Grace from Finn Balor. It seems that it was the best possible start to 2018 for the reunited Bullet Club.
It seems that even though Gallows, Anderson and Finn haven't teamed together in almost four years, the trio was able to pick up exactly where they left off.
What's next?
Finn Balor has already announced that he will be part of The Royal Rumble match, but it seems that this will do little to silence the rumours that Finn and The Good Brothers could be set to return to NJPW in the coming year.
Fellow Bullet Club member Tama Tonga revealed on his Twitter page a few weeks ago that the group would be united by September 2019, which has obviously begun a lot of speculation when it comes to the future of the trio in WWE.
Author's take
The WWE Universe have wanted Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Finn Balor to reunite for the past few months and finally, it seems that 2018 could see the team working together and pushing each other to the top of the company. Gallows and Anderson definitely need a boost right now and Finn could be the one to help with that.
Whilst it's sad that Finn isn't in the position he deserves to be as part of the Raw roster right now, his mid-card level will be much easier for him to take if he's alongside two of his best friends. How long now until the WWE Universe start praying for The Shield vs. The Bullet Club?
