WWE News: The Club attacks another top star after SmackDown goes off-air
In what has become a new trend to every house shows, this week’s SmackDown too had a huge segment after SmackDown went off-air. In the recent week, we have seen a feud teased between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns, dream teams of Cena/Reigns and Styles/Rollins formed and what not. This week’s SmackDown saw The Club make another appearance heading into Money in the Bank.
Though both Rollins and Reigns were absent for the SmackDown taping, they did work in the dark segment. After SmackDown went off-air, The Club attacked Dean Ambrose viciously and decimated him until the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns made the save. Both Roman and Dean fought off the club but the show didn’t end with them standing on their feet.
Rollins grabbed the opportunity to send a message to his Shield brethren. Rollins attacked Roman Reigns and stood tall to end the show. Interestingly, Wrestlinginc reports that the arena exploded when Roman made the save. They also report that Roman was welcomed with way more cheers than boos. Looks like The Shield reunion paid off and at least a portion of the crowd are behind Roman heading into the title defense.
