WWE News: The Hardy Boyz talk about a potential ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt match
What’s the story?
In a recent interview with SPORTbible, Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz spoke about a number of topics including the possibility of a match between ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt. The duo also discussed Jeff Hardy going up against the likes of Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.
In case you didn’t know…
The Hardy Boyz successfully defended their titles against the pair of Cesaro and Sheamus at the recent Payback pay-per-view. After a gruelling match between the two teams, the champions emerged victorious with Jeff Hardy hitting a ‘Swanton Bomb’ on Sheamus for the 3-count.
While the losing team shook hands and raised the hands of their opponents soon after the match, ‘The Celtic Warrior’ and ‘The Swiss Superman’ returned to the ring and brutally attacked the brothers. They were particularly severe on Matt Hardy as his forehead was busted open after a ‘Brogue Kick’.
The heart of the matter
Asked about the prospects of them engaging in singles competition in the future, Matt Hardy suggested that a match between his ‘Broken’ character and Bray Wyatt would be interesting. He also hinted at possible matches involving Jeff Hardy and Finn Balor or Seth Rollins or even one of them facing Roman Reigns.
Here’s what ‘Mattitude’ told SPORTbible:
“Just for starters, if we get to where we need to be, I think 'Broken' Matt Hardy against Bray Wyatt would be an amazing deal, and you look at him [Jeff] - him vs Seth Rollins, him vs Finn Balor, either one of us vs Roman Reigns.”
Matt added that there were a number of superstars on the current roster that they had never faced before. ‘The Man Who Will Not Die’ stated this:
“There's a lot of cool, interesting combinations of guys who became stars in the last five or six years that we've never worked against, it's totally like a fresh slate.”

Author’s take
The return of The Hardy Boyz to the WWE has provided a major boost to the company’s tag team division. However, it is certainly a mouth-watering prospect to see Matt and Jeff venture into singles territory.
