WWE News: The Miz wants Tim Tebow to join WWE

Tim Tebow

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz recently appeared on the ESPN show SportsNation to promote Summerslam which will take place on August 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. One of the hosts of the show Michelle Beadle asked Miz to comment on the current Pro athlete he would like to see in a WWE ring, and without any hesitation, the IC champ believed that Tim Tebow could be one of the WWE’s top stars if he made the move.

"He would be the greatest bad guy we've ever had," The Miz said. "In the world, he's a good guy - he's so good. In the WWE, he would bad because he's so good. The WWE Universe likes bad boys."

His pick came as a surprise for the hosts in the panel, but they eventually agreed with the choice of former World Champion, who sees Tebow as one of the great heels in the business. Moreover, Tebow has been in the headlines of late as he is trying to make a career in professional baseball after playing in the NFL seasons since 2012.

Bringing the former football players and professional athletes to the company is not new to WWE. They have a rich history of utilising the athletes especially the football players. Current Superstars  Roman Reigns, Titus O'Neil, Baron Corbin and Mojo Rawley are few examples, who have either NFL or  football experience under their belt before moving into WWE.

The former NFL tackle Brennan Williams is also one of the players to be included in the history books. The football world remembers Tebow as a very good football player with a wacky throwing motion that led Broncos to an NFL playoff win in 2011. However, the Miz see him as the greatest prospect in WWE.

Following this week’s Smackdown, The Miz is scheduled to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Apollo Crews at Summerslam.
