WWE News: The New Day comment on Booker T-Corey Graves situation
What’s the story?
The New Day took a shot at the ongoing situation between Corey Graves and Booker T.
Apparently, in addition to The New Day’s subtle joke during SmackDown Live at the Graves-Booker rivalry, Big E doubled down on the same.
In case you didn’t know…
As we’d previously reported, on a recent edition of his Heated Conversations podcast, Booker T claimed that Corey Graves cost him his job as a part of Monday Night RAW’s commentary team.
In fact, Booker T alluded that if he were to meet Graves in the street, he’d give the latter a beat-down, as Graves messed with his ‘green’ i.e. Booker T’s money.
The heart of the matter
While Corey Graves did send out a Tweet, alluding to his ongoing rivalry with Booker T, he followed up on it by taking another shot at the situation, advising Jonathan Coachman to stay wary of Graves or else ‘The Coach’ could end up on a radio show (in reference to Booker T airing his grievances on a the Heated Conversations podcast).
The New Day answered fan questions all through last night’s edition of SmackDown Live, and chimed in with their very first answer being—“Do you think Corey Graves has a better jab or left hook?”
Furthermore, upon being ranked at number-6 in the SmackDown Top 10 ranking system, Big E took sounded off with the following statement—“6? 6 is the percent chance I give Corey Graves in a street fight.”
What’s next?
The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) presently compete on the WWE’s SmackDown brand.
On the other hand, Corey Graves serves as a color commentator on both the RAW and SmackDown brands, including the majority of PPV shows. Contrarily, Booker T has confirmed that he’ll be working as an analyst on the PPV pre-shows over the next few months.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, the entire Corey Graves-Booker T fiasco could turn into a major angle on WWE programming.
Something seems fishy about the ongoing drama, as logic dictates that if Booker T legitimately threatened Graves, the latter would’ve probably pressed charges. Nevertheless, The New Day seem to find humor in a seemingly tense situation, and so could the fans.
The situation is likely to unravel over the next few days, and considering that Booker T challenged Graves to a ‘fight’ at Wrestlemania 34, the WWE Universe can expect the unexpected.
